Pete Lakin - Keyboards

BIOGRAPHY

Where it all began

Keyboard player/songwriter Pete Lakin’s first foray into the melodic rock scene was with U.K. rock band Double Cross back in the early 2000’s alongside former Mama’s Boys vocalist Rick Chase. They released their debut album Time After Time in 2003 which featured Magnum’s Bob Catley on backing vocals for two tracks (Reach Out & When Two Worlds Collide) and received a wave of great reviews and decent rock radio airplay.

Double Cross went on to tour with the likes of Dokken, Danger Danger and eventually a full U.K. tour in support of US Rock band STYX during 2005.

From Then to Now

In 2012 Lakin joined U.K. rock band Dante Fox for their upcoming shows as live keyboard player which later turned into a more permanent role. Dante Fox would show up on festival line ups over the next four years (Firefest, Hard Rock Hell & HRH AOR to name a few) and played support to the likes of US rock band Night Ranger in London and a full U.K. tour with British rock band Romeos Daughter.

« This album has been a real labour of love for us, we wanted to write a collection of songs that would bring to mind and pay tribute to the spirit of the incredible AOR/Melodic rock bands of the early eighties but without being formulaic or derivative. Hopefully there is something for everyone on there and we can’t wait for people to hear the album and to get out and play the songs live. »

The Future

Releasing two singles in 2014 (Love Affair & How Will You Know) both co written by Lakin. Dante Fox would then go on to release 2016’s Breathless album featuring both singles and a handful of other songs that he had co written. Lakin however parted ways with the band prior to it’s release.

Lakin has also worked extensively with White Skies guitarist Ray Callcut on a number of live projects and since 2020 was heavily involved in the writing, recording and production of the White Skies album Black Tide
